The Ministry of Energy Strategic Retreat Session 2021

The Ministry of Energy and associated Statutory Bodies held a Strategic Retreat on Thursday, 14th January 2021 at the East Wing Conference Hall, Prime Minister's Office. Organized by the Ministry's Policy and Strategy Division, the retreat was the penultimate event of the Ministry's Strategic Workshops that were held on the 6th and 7th January 2021. The Strategic Retreat discussed the targets and action plans of the Ministry's eight strategic objectives under its Strategic Plan for the years 2020-2025. The session was officiated by Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Dr. Awang Haji Mat Suny bin Haji Md. Hussein, Minister of Energy.

Current and Future Skills in the Oil and Gas Industry: Towards the Expansion of Brunei Downstream Energy Sector

Brunei Darussalam continues to create new economic opportunities to diversify the country's economy. Alongside other sectors, the downstream oil and gas sector plays an important role in reshaping the country's economic landscape and boosting resilience during a time of global oil market uncertainties. The downstream sector recorded a significant increase of 433.5% between Q3 2019 to Q3 2020.

Ministry of Energy Presents Donation to Orphans

The Ministry of Energy held a donation ceremony for orphans on Thursday, 31st December 2020. Present as the Guest of Honour and to handover the donation was Yang Mulia Awang Haji Azhar bin Haji Yahya, Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Energy. The event was held at Bismi Enterprise, Kampong Serusop.

​A Town Hall session was held for staff from the Ministry of Energy, Department of Electrical Services and its associated Statutory Bodies on Tuesday, 28th December 2020 at the Banquet Hall, Prime Minister's Office. The session was led by Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Dr. Awang Haji Mat Suny bin Haji Md. Hussein, Minister of Energy and attended by over 200 staff in observance of Ministry of Health guidelines for physical distancing. 

Working Visit to Tali Field

The Ministry of Energy conducted an offshore working visit to Tali Oil Field aboard the PTAS Sdn. Bhd. 8 Amanah vessel on Wednesday, 16 December 2020 as part of a series of regulatory inspections on national energy assets.

​His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, this afternoon received in audience Mr. Qiu Jianlin, Chairman of the Zhejiang Hengyi Group and Hengyi Industries Sdn. Bhd. The Audience Ceremony took place at Istana Nurul Iman.

Winners for Art and Video Competitions Feted in conjunction to the Environmental Education Tour to Tenaga Suria Brunei

The Ministry of Energy and Green Brunei with the support of Mitsubishi Corporation organized a closing ceremony for the Environmental Education Tour to Tenaga Suria Brunei on 28 November 2020 held at the Banquet Hall, Prime Minister's Office . The Environmental Education Tour was officially launched in September 2020 as part of a multi-sectorial awareness programme under the Brunei Darussalam National Climate Change Policy (BNCCP), supported by Department of Electrical Services, Ministry of Energy; Department of Co-Curriculum Education, Ministry of Education; the Brunei Climate Change Secretariat, Ministry of Development; and the Science, Technology and Environment Partnership (STEP) Centre, Ministry of Education. The education tour has attracted over 1,100 visitors, comprising of students, teachers and members of the public.  An art and video competition organised by the Department of Co-Curriculum, Ministry of Education was also held in conjunction with the program.
